The Ashtech ADU800 is a 6D GNSS positioning system. It offers accurate pitch, roll along and heading with 3D position, and velocities at a rate of up to 20Hz for both dynamic and static platforms. This allows the ADU800 to be used for a wide range of applications, including airborne, terrestrial and marine applications.
The ADU800 has 3 antennas that provide carrier phase measurements to the system to resolve any ambiguity issue as well as real-time 3D attitude information. The 3 antennas can be positioned to provide different level of accuracies. When the antennas are positioned 2 meters apart, the ADU800 offers accuracies of 0.2 degree for pitch and roll, 0.1 degree for heading.
The ADU800 is equipped with a MB100 or MB800 board, and is encased in a small and rugged enclosure. It is capable of tracking multiple GNSS constellations, which allows it to deliver reliable results in areas that do not have a clear view of the sky. Furthermore, the rugged design of the ADU800 makes it ideal for applications that are used in harsh environments. These applications include mining, seismic exploration, oceanographic research, and gyrocompass calibration.
