In April, Tallysman announced that a new family of Lightweight Helical GNSS Antennas specifically designed for the UAV market was to be released during 2019. Several of the new products have arrived, with additional models to be announced later this year. Tallysman is a leading manufacturer of high-performance GNSS antennas and their components.
The first four models of the Tallysman helical line-up include:
• HC871 (25g) – A housed, dual-band, active GNSS antenna, supporting GPS L1/L2, GLONASS G1/G2, Galileo E1, and BeiDou B1.
• HC872 (36g) – A housed, dual-band, active GNSS antenna, supporting GPS L1/L2, GLONASS G1/G2, Galileo E1, BeiDou B1, and L-Band services.
• HC882 (37g) – A housed, dual-band, active GNSS antenna, supporting GPS L1/L2, GLONASS G1/G2/G3, Galileo E1, E5b, BeiDou B1, B2, and L-Band services.
• HC975 (37g) – A housed, dual-band, active GNSS antenna, supporting GPS L1/L2/L5, GLONASS G1/G3, Galileo E1, E5a, E5b, BeiDou B1, B2, and L-Band services.
Featuring an industry-leading low current, Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), the active GNSS helical antennas include integrated low-loss pre-filters, protecting against harmonic interference from interfering high amplitude signals including 700MHz band LTE as well as other near in-band cellular signals.
These lightweight helical GNSS antennas offer centimetre-level accuracy, precision tuning with excellent axial ratio and free rotation on any axis while retaining accuracy.
Ideal for a variety of high-precision Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications, these lightweight Tallysman helical antennas have excellent axial ratios and are available in both housed and embedded OEM versions. The housed models feature a robust, military-grade plastic enclosure, complete with an integrated SMA connector for screw-on mounting that leaves the unit sealed securely. Embedded Tallysman helical antenna models are able to be custom-tuned for any application and can be configured with a variety of cables and connectors. Patents are pending with respect to several aspects of these new Tallysman products.
Applications for these new antennas include Airborne Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles, precision GPS positioning, Dual Frequency RTK receivers, Mission Critical GPS timing, military & security, and Network Timing & Synchronization. Lightweight, they are ideal for L1/L2 RTK surveying systems and feature great multipath rejection, increased system accuracy and excellent signal to noise ratio. They are also IP67, REACH and RoHS compliant.
Tallysman’s President and CTO, Gyles Panther had this to say about the new Tallysman helical family:
“There is a clear requirement for lightweight, high-performance antennas for the rapidly growing UAV market. These new patented helical products are an extension to our existing range of superlight L1/L2 patch antennas and will provide customers with a wider choice of antenna formats to suit their specific application requirements … These are the first of a number of new products we plan to introduce for this application to support our already wide customer base for UAV antennas.”
Available at competitive prices, the Tallysman family of lightweight helical GNSS antenna products deliver unprecedented antenna precision, supporting the needs of a new generation of positioning systems.
